DomDo.com is a social experiment providing free internet advertising to anyone who has something they want everyone to know about. Simply post your link, title, and a short description and you will stay on the front page until you get “pushed” off.
PHPQuestions.com is basically a web based front-end to the PHP mailing lists and newsgroups. Its based on Newsportal, but heavily customized (by me) to allow for faster page loading. I will be working on this one to add some search functionality and possibly storage in MySQL as time goes on.
Providenames.com is the internets largest provider of free eNom domain reseller accounts. For those of you who dont know, eNom is the #2 domain name registrar in the world. Largely due to the fact that the majority of their sales is done through their resellers. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago they started requiring massive deposits in order to get decent pricing. With the deal I have worked out with them you can bypass these extremely large deposits and start reselling domains pretty much immediately. If you are running a web hosting, web development, or other related website that could benefit from selling domain names at very discounted prices to your customers, you should take a look!
Im working on a project that will allow you to submit your website to multiple search engines at once. I know this has been done by other people several times before, but it hasn’t been done by me. If you are curious, or have a website you want to add to Alexa, AltaVista, MSN, Google, AllTheWeb, Splat, Subjex, MixCat, SearchIt, and TrueSearch, go Submit Your Site
Ever wanted to know who “owns” a domain name? Take a look at www.srscheck.com. If the domain name is registered, it will provide you with detailed information about that particular domain name.
This application runs as a background process that monitors a POP3 email account for new email, then downloads it, detaches any files such as pictures, sound or video, uses the Blogger API to post the text in the email to your blog and uses FTP to post the files to your server. Send the email from a phone and you immediately start “moblogging”. link
In a nutshell, TrackBack and pinging were designed to provide a method of notification between websites: it is a method of person A saying to person B, “This is something you may be interested in.” To do that, person A sends a TrackBack ping to person B. To sum it up, “pinging” or “trackbacks” provide an extremely easy and automated method of notifying the world that you have recently updated your weblog. I am currently in the process of creating a “gateway” that will allow you to manage your pings and trackbacks. Essentially, you will “ping” one URL, and this application will relay your ping to whoever you have chosen. Stay tuned for more information.
This post is designed as part of a project to see exactly how fast and how often my weblog is being crawled by the many many search engines.
Although I am still in the process of creating a web front-end for NNTP groups, so far InfoPull.com has pulled over 250 million usenet messages from several different servers. This is by far no where near as much as Google has managed over at their Google Groups site, but I guarantee you that we are well on the way.
