After several years of pointing investors elsewhere for the stock, mutual fund, and exchange-traded fund (ETF) information they craved, Google has rolled out its own financial site. No longer will your Google search for AAPL or LUV send you to Yahoo! Finance by default, as the new kid on the block wants some of that attention all to itself. Being the resident business-and-financials dude at the Orbiting HQ, I was intrigued by the news, and set out to get my hands a little dirty. The “early-stage beta product” comes with a FAQ where you can find the following enumeration of the ways in which Google hopes Google Finance will stand out from its competitors.
